Ronald Brockmann, CTO, Active Video, Netherlands
Ronald joined ActiveVideo Networks in 2009 following the company's acquisition of Avinity Systems, a European developer of cloud-based interactive television solutions. As CEO and co-founder of Avinity, Ronald led a team that pioneered innovative approaches to providing a common interactive experience across all European CE devices, from legacy digital set-top boxes to CI+ enabled TVs.
Prior to co-founding Avinity Systems, Ronald was CTO and co-founder of No Wires Needed, an early WiFi pioneer that was acquired by Intersil (NASDAQ: ISIL) in 2000. Ronald continued to manage development teams following that acquisition and subsequent mergers with GlobespanVirata (NASDAQ: GSPN) and Conexant Systems (NASDAQ: CNXT). Ronald has made key contributions to several IEEE 802.11 standards.
Ronald earned an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Twente in Enschede, The Netherlands. He is the holder of several patents.
