Marina Kalkanis, Head of the Programmes OnDemand Core Services Team, BBC
As head of the Programmes OnDemand Core Services team at the BBC, Marina Kalkanis is responsible for the media and metadata services supporting BBC online. A senior technology manager within the corporation, Marina has been responsible for building the media and metadata workflows which deliver the BBC iPlayer. As home broadcaster for the 2012 Olympics the BBC aims to broadcast online all 2,500 hours of the Olympic Games. The delivery of the Olympics online simulcast and on demand streaming will be the responsibility of Marina's team.
